Enjoy rejuvenating runs on the Yacht and Beach Club resorts shared 2-mile trail, the Caribbean Beach Resort's 1.4-mile promenade that circles a lake, and Port Orleans’ 1.7-mile riverfront trail. The Grand Floridian, Yacht Club, and Beach Club offer boat cruises. Glide across the surface of local waters at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides in Kissimmee (407-344-9550), where you'll enjoy half-hour tours and night tours, or Old Fashioned Airboat Rides in Christmas, east of Orlando (407-568-4307), which offers 90-minute cruises. Fishing. Disney offers fishing excursions on the various Disney lakes, including Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. The lakes are stocked, so anglers will find plenty of catch. Fishing excursions, including a guide, gear, and refreshments, can be arranged up to 90 days in advance by calling 407-939-2277. Bait is purchased separately for $15. For a less-expensive fishing trip, rent fishing poles at the Bike Barn to fish in the Fort Wilderness canals. A Pro Bass Guide Service (800-771-9676 or 407-877-9676) offers guided bass fishing trips along central Florida's most picturesque rivers and lakes.
Ballooning. Experience an early-morning hot-air balloon flight at Orange Blossom Balloons (407-239-7677) in Lake Buena Vista and Blue Water Balloons (800-586-1884 or 407-894-5040) in Orlando. Rates include a champagne toast at the conclusion of the flight and a breakfast buffet or picnic afterward.
Hayrides. Hop on the hay wagon departing from Pioneer Hall at Disney's Fort Wilderness for a 45-minute old-fashioned hayride with singing, jokes, and games nightly at 7 and 9:30pm. An adult must accompany children under 12. Call 407-824-2832.

Villas of Grand Cypress's Equestrian Center (800-835-7377 or 407-239-1938) offers 45-minute walk-trot trail rides and private lessons. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and the Port Orleans Resort (407-824-2832) offer 30-minute horse-drawn carriage rides for up to four people.

The Nature Conservancy's Disney Wilderness Preserve (407-682-3664 or 407-935-0002) is a peaceful 12,000-acre getaway with 7 miles of hiking trails at the headwaters of the Everglades ecosystem, just south of Orlando. Trails range from a half-mile interpretive trail to a challenging 4.5-mile hiking trail. The preserve also features Sunday afternoon buggy rides and picnic facilities along the trails. [Top]

Swimming. Our hotel offers a crystal-clear swimming pool, hot tub and sundeck for a cool swim. The nearby YMCA Aquatic Center (407-363-1911) on I-Drive has a fitness center, racquetball courts, and an indoor Olympic-size pool for a swimming and working out.
Surfing. Catch a wave and "hang ten" at the Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. On Tuesdays and Fridays, instructors from Carroll's Cocoa Beach Surfing School (407-939-7529) teach an early session in the lagoon, which has a wave machine capable of 8-footers. The 2 1-2-hour sessions are held before the park opens and is limited to 14 people. Ride the waves at the indoor surf park, Ron Jon Surf Park (321-799-8880) at Festival Bay, which features pools for surfers and body boarders, as well as lessons and clinics. For real Atlantic waves and breaks, Cocoa Beach is only 60 miles east.
Tennis. There are 26 tennis courts throughout the Disney Resort and at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex. The Racquet Club at the Contemporary Resort has six clay courts all lighted for evening play and offers lessons. For reservations, call (407) 939-7529.

Get behind a boat or at the end of an overhead cable at the Orlando Watersports Complex (407-251-3100), which has lights for nighttime thrill seekers.
